I have to admit that this year has just not been my year for weight loss. I have gained some weight back and I’m really disappointed and I know that I have to get myself back into the right mindset. For me that involves finding my motivation again.
As many of you might know, WW is making some changes to their plans starting on November 11th. From what I have heard, they are going to have 3 plan that we can choose from. The plans will have a variety of zero point food lists and the minimum number of daily points will be based on the amount of zero point foods on that plan. So with the plan with the lowest amount of zero point foods, you will get more daily points. I am excited about this plan because I like the idea of having more daily points to work with and I don’t really care too much about the zero point foods because I don’t eat a lot of them anyway. So I am really hoping that this change will help boost my weight loss and I can make more progress with the new plan.
Another thing that I have discovered lately is a youtube channel that is run by a guy named Jordan Syatt. He makes a lot of videos on weight loss and I have been really inspired by him. One thing that really stood out to me in one of his videos was that you shouldn’t focus on specific weight loss goals because you don’t have a lot of control over the numbers because weight can fluctuate depending on a lot of different factors. So he suggests to make attainable goals that you can easily measure. So one goal that I am going to focus on is drinking 80oz of water a day. I can use my water bottle that shows how many ounces it holds and I can keep track of my water intake using my fitbit app.
Another goal that I am going to set for myself is to get 4 blue dots each week. For those of you that are not familiar with the WW program, in the app, users get a blue dot for each day that they stay within a certain range of points. So if I get 26 daily points, I get a blue dot if I stay in the range of 16-31 smartpoints. I definitely struggle with this and I think that is why my weight has fluctuated so much lately, because most days I tend to go way over my points. So if I try my best to get at least 4 blue dots each week, this will help me continue with losing weight.
So far this week I have not stayed within my daily points so my plan is to get a blue dot Tuesday-Friday so that I can meet my weekly goal. I also have been drinking more water but so far this week I have not gotten in 80oz of water each day. So I am going to work hard on that this week and hopefully I can meet that goal the rest of the week.
Hi Amanda, your blog journal reads so parallel to mine, that I just wanted to say hi. I’m WW green, struggled this year, track water intake with my fitbit. Keep working at WW because it works. I reached goal and lifetime in 2018 and then fell off the wagon in 2019. In November, I got on the wagon and am trying to be accountable to myself, in my own head.
