Since my last post, I haven’t been able to attend my WW Workshop because this weekend we had a blizzard so I was stuck at home for several days. In anticipation of the blizzard I did a lot of stress eating because I struggle with anxiety and knowing that we were going to be having a bad winter storm and possible be stranded at home for several days made me worry a lot more. So I had a bit of a setback, but the important thing is that I got right back on track after the storm and I am working hard this week to lose what I probably gained. Hopefully when I go to my WW Workshop on Saturday I will have a loss.
One thing that has really helped me this week is keeping up with my exercise routine. I have been using my treadmill at home 6 days a week and I have incorporated into my daily routine so it’s just become something I do every morning after I get my son off to school and finish my coffee. I have a tv mounted on the wall in front of the treadmill so that really helps the time go by faster.
Other than the treadmill, I haven’t gotten much exercise in, except for shoveling snow. At this point I am so looking forward to Spring so that I can take my kids outside and move around more. I honestly hate winter because we are usually cooped up inside because it’s too cold to be outside for long, so I feel like I’m starting to get cabin fever and I’m wanting so much for Spring be here. I have been getting 10,000 steps most days, especially on days where I work out on the treadmill. But I am hoping that when it gets to be Spring/Summer, I can get closer to 12,000-13,000 steps each day.
One thing about being cooped up in the house is that it is so tempting to eat constantly. If I don’t have junk food in the house, then it’s not too bad because then the only choice I have is to snack on healthy fruits and vegetables. But it’s times when I get bored and take the kids to the store that gets me in trouble. Because then I am tempted to buy unhealthy foods and get off track. So I am trying to limit my trips to town so that I am not tempted too much. I try to plan out my meals and go grocery shopping every two weeks so that I make sure that I have everything I need, but there always seems to be something I overlook or something that we run out of before my next shopping trip. So I’m really trying to be more organized with meal planning, shopping, and keeping stocked up on essentials.
I recently purchased the Skinnytaste Meal Planner so that I can write in all of my meals for the week, including breakfast and lunch because sometimes I tend to not plan ahead for lunch and then I am tempted to go out to eat. So I think writing in this meal planner will help me stay more organized with my meals and help me stay on track.
So I think that I will have a good weigh in at my WW Workshop on Saturday because this week I have been doing very well and if I keep it up, it will pay off. I’m feeling more and more confident with myself since I’ve gotten back on track after the holidays and I want to keep working hard so that I can have a good year for weight loss.
