I decided to get back to posting my weekly weigh-ins so that it will help me keep myself accountable. I used to go to WW workshops before the pandemic and it was always helpful to have someone see my weigh in because it made me more motivated to lose weight. So this week I lost 1.2 lbs and I was actually surprised by that because I did okay at the beginning of the week but towards the middle of the week I got off track and even ordered pizza yesterday so I thought I might have a small gain. So I am thankful that I had a loss this week and it helps to motivate me to keep going.
Yesterday I had a doctor’s appointment and my blood pressure was elevated. I already take blood pressure medication so this was concerning to my doctor and she asked me to monitor my blood pressure at home to see if it gets better, but if it doesn’t she might have to increase my medication. I know that although the elevated blood pressure can be a result of multiple things, I can’t help but wonder if my weight has contributed to it. So this is definitely a wake up call to me that I need to work harder on my weight loss and hopefully that will lower my blood pressure.
I started off the year with goals to work on this year and I need to go back to those goals and get serious about working on them. During the month of January I actually gained 6 lbs and that was extremely disappointing but I know that it was the result of me making a ton of excuses to eat whatever I wanted and not caring about what it was doing to my body. So I am determined to turn things around in February and so far I have had losses every week, so that I hope by the end of February I will have lost what I gained in January.
So my goals for the rest of the month are:
- Drink 80oz of water a day
- Track everything I eat – plan ahead for everything, pre-track, etc.
- Get movement in every day – Use treadmill M, W & F and do Youtube workout video on T & Th
I have two more weigh-ins left this month and I am determined to make them really good ones!
